![]() The following are a few quips from reviews for our debut album, The Psycho Nubs go to great lengths to write music that is interesting...They aren't just any band! They are intelligent, witty, humorous and sarcastic...These guys are really good and I hope to hear much more from them in the future! To me, their brand of punk is well worth the listening time and I won't have a problem recommending the album to anyone who wants to know about good music! They are very worthy musicians who shall continue to write and record awesome music! It's in their blood! --Mark Lush, Midwestbands.com Link to full review: www.midwestbands.com/review_page.php?id=361 The Psycho Nubs are a wily duo. They play all kinds of punk rock, from rockabilly to gothy-blues to pop to street to whatever they want. I love every single track on this twenty track album! I love this disc and haven't stopped listening to it since I put it in the player a week ago. You just cannot dipute this band's talent, nor their ability to hook you on the first listen. The Psycho Nubs have it all! --Matt G, Hussieskunk.com Link to full review: www.hussieskunk.com/reviews/music/thepsychonubs-firsthumanbeingstodieonthemoon.htm From the push of the play button to the last second of this full-length CD is nothing less than fast pace lucrative punk all the way...This is one of the best punk bands I've heard in years and their lyrics are stellar along with their writing skills, very fun, very fast, very good! All stars! --Little Boot, CDBaby.com Review Link to full review: cdbaby.com/cd/psychonubs What The Psycho Nubs do with "First Human Beings" is create a style that allows them to bail out of a track if things get repetitious much; this repetition is something that just does not happen as the band tries to add different styles in each and every track on this disc. The halting style of "How It Started" is something that has a parallel in early Talking Heads and Wall Of Voodoo, but The Psycho Nubs use it to drastically change the overall sound of the disc. Everything the band attempts during "First Human Beings" goes off well, with the ultimate result of this ever-shifting style being the fact that The Psycho Nubs create a great album here. There are enough nods to the past that the overall sound of "First Human Beings" is something out of mid-nineties Lookout Records (just listen to the catchy but slightly depressing tone of "Killing The Grind" to hear what I'm talking about), but The Psycho Nubs have enough talent to make this a current album, a feat thate The Psycho Nubs do without breaking even the slightest sweat. Here's to hoping that listeners can hear more of The Psycho Nubs in the future. --James McQuinston, Neufutur.com Link to full review: www.neufutur.com/Reviews/thepsychonubs.html The things which I respect most about The Psycho Nubs are their down-to-earth, do-it-yourself punk ethics and their socially motivated, anti-establishment lyrics. There is a massive disillusion in the mainstream about what 'punk' is nowadays. People think because you have a mohawk or studs on leather you are punk-rock. People even think that Good Charlotte is punk- and that is a travesty. Anyways I'll stop rambling...the point is The Psycho Nubs are a true DIY band. If you are looking for more traditional punk rock this CD should be right up your alley. Stripped down, politically/socially motivated, honest-to-anarchy punk. --Josh Hogan, IndependentClauses.com Link to full review: www.independentclauses.com/v2/issues/june06/the_psycho_nubs.htm |
